Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina seems to have been enjoying the company of her fellow Miss Universe candidates, especially that they are very curious about the Philippines and its culture.

In an appearance in Unang Hirit on Tuesday, Medina said she shows the world-famous Filipino hospitality to her co-candidates by answering their questions about the country.

“I actually enjoy that they are asking questions about the Philippines, about our culture, and it is something that we enjoy,” the Filipina beauty queen said.

On Monday, Medina and the Miss Universe candidates from Japan, Korea, New Zealand, USA, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, China, Malaysia toured Intramuros.

“They've been asking me a lot of questions about Jose Rizal, the history of it. And then after we went to this Christmas Party where all the traditional [Filipino foods] like bibingka [were served]. They love it,” Medina said.

But if there is one thing in the Philippines that Medina would be proud to show her fellow candidates, it would be the country’s pristine beaches.

“Of course the beaches, especially Siargao. It's my first time in Siargao actually. So I really enjoyed it. Although we had to go back,” Medina said.

The Miss Universe candidates are in the Philippines to visit some of its famous tourist destinations, ahead of the coronation night on January 30, 2017.
