Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa's stellar year ends on a high note as she joins People Asia magazine's roster of notable personalities.

The beauty queen was listed with Kapuso actress and singer Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, John Lloyd Cruz,  Dr. Preciosa S. Soliven, Edgar Sia II, Joy Belmonte, Antonio Tuviera Ces Oreña-Drilon, and Dr. Z Teo as "People of the Year" awardees for 2016.

Olympic silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz was also recognized by the magazine, along with Max Soliven Lifetime Achievement awardees Celia Diaz Laurel and Dr. Andrew Tan.

"I am honored to be part of People Asia's People of the Year. Thank you!" Verzosa wrote on her Instagram account Tuesday.

In a snippet from her interview for the magazine, Verzosa confessed that it took more than prayers for her to achieve her dreams.

"It took a lot of hard work and dedication to get to where I am," the beauty queen told People Asia.

Meanwhile, Velasquez revealed that she is prepared to be "forgotten" as a singer and to leave a different kind of legacy.

"One day, a better, much younger singer will come along. People will talk about her, and I will be forgotten... As far as I'm concerned, our children are our legacy. How we raise them will be our gift to the future," the singer said. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas / AT, GMA News
