Maxine Medina among Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova’s Top 20 picks

Who better knows how to win the crown than someone who's already worn it?

On Saturday, Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova shared her top 20 picks for the 65th Miss Universe, listed in alphabetical order based on the swimsuit competition.

In a Facebook live, she revealed that the following women stood out from the rest:

  • Miss Argentina Estefania Bernal
  • Miss Australia Caris Tiivel
  • Miss Brazil Raissa Santana
  • Miss Canada Siera Bearchell
  • Miss Chile Catalina Caceres
  • Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar
  • Miss Curacao Chanelle De Lau
  • Miss France Iris Mittenaere
  • Miss Germany Johanna Acs
  • Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier
  • Miss Indonesia Kezia Warouw
  • Miss Mexico Kristal Silva
  • Miss Nicaragua Marina Jacoby
  • Miss Panama Keity Drennan
  • Miss Philippines Maxine Medina
  • Miss Puerto Rico Brenda Jimenez
  • Miss Sierra Leone Hawa Kamara
  • Miss Thailand Chalita Suansane
  • Miss Uruguay Magdalena Cohendent
  • Miss Venezuela Mariam Habach

"Philippines is an absolute doll, she is just as cute as a button, she is very beautiful," Glebova said of Maxine Medina.

"However, I would like to see a little bit more from her, in a sense that...I think she needs to believe in herself a little bit more?" the beauty queen said and explained, "Believe that she can bring a back-to-back victory for the Philippines. I want to see a little bit more determination and just knowing that she has it."

Glebova continued, "I truly believe in the law of attraction—whatever you believe, you can achieve. It's so important for anything in your life. In pageants, how you can apply this is that if you believe that you can make it to the semifinals or if you believe that you are good enough to win, that can happen."

Maxine Medina is also among Missosology's hot picks, along with Miss Thailand Chalita Suansane, Miss Venezuela Mariam Habach, Miss Brazil Raissa Santana, and Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar.

Designer Albert Andrada also picked Medina on his top five list.

Australia, she said in the Facebook live, is one of her favorites and praised her from looking like she just came fresh from the beach. Glebova also praised Brazil's stunning good looks and great stage presence.

Colombia is well-prepared, but Glebova said that she doesn't look as striking as Paulina Vega or Ariadna Gutierrez yet. Meanwhile, France and Indonesia both got a "yes, yes, yes!"

Thailand is a particular standout for Glebova, who says Chalita Suansane definitely has what takes to win.
