Miss U president thanks PHL for 'best show I've ever done'
Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere of France is not the only one who got her crowning moment on Monday.
Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart heaped praises on the Philippines after the coronation event, as she described the pageant as the best she'd ever done.
“I want to thank you all. I want to thank the Filipino people for their support. This is the best show I’ve ever done… Thank you so much,” she said.

Saying the Philippines exceeded her expectations, Shugart thanked the organizers led by former Ilocos Gov. Luis "Chavit" Singson and Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo for helping them put together the event.
“I’d like to thank Gov. Chavit Singson and Sec. Wanda Teo. We have been talking for a long time, and here we are, seven months later, with a worldwide telecast to hundreds of countries. Millions of people around the world have all watched the Philippines tonight. It’s very, very exciting,” she said.
Singson received a “Mr. Universe” sash from the Miss Universe organization as a token of appreciation for his role in the event.
