GMA-7 airs most-watched Miss Universe broadcast

More viewers chose to watch the GMA-7 broadcast of the Miss Universe grand coronation event on Monday.

According to NUTAM people ratings from Nielsen Philippines, the GMA airing of the much-awaited pageant drew an 11.6 rating based on preliminary overnight data.

ABS-CBN's broadcast drew less than half that rating with 5.7, while the TV5 airing drew 1.2.

Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach crowned her successor Iris Mittenarae of France during the event, which also saw Philippines bet Maxine Medina barge into the top six. —JST, GMA News
