Dakila launches 28 days of art with ‘Tibok: The Beat of Your Art’
If the pen is mightier than the sword, what other great heights can you reach with every stroke of a brush or even a crayon?
In celebration of Philippine National Arts Month, advocacy group Dakila has launched "Tibok: The Beat of Your Art" to inspire heroism through creativity.

"This Arts Month, Dakila urges everyone to recognize the power of art and join them as they celebrate how art touches lives, changes society, connects people, and expresses the inexpressible," Micheline Rama, executive director of Dakila, said in a statement to the press.
Tibok is a 28-day art challenge open to anyone. Each day has a theme and people participating simply need to use #Tibok2017 to join. Paintings, digital art, performance, calligraphy, music, poetry, and photography are all welcome in Tibok.
"No matter how it's done or what it's made, art always has something to change about the world, and that's enough power for you to make as an artist," says Floyd Tiogangco, a performance artist who is also a Dakila member. Tiogangco submitted a video of his performance art piece called Layers of Hate for the Bahaghari theme last February 8.
Dakila members like musician, Pochoy Labog of Dicta License and Malay, poets, Ninotchka Rosca and Jair Cruz, filmmakers, Ditsi Carolino and Cha Roque, as well as visual artists, Andrei Venal, Therene Quijano and Irish Flores have also joined Tibok. — Aya Tantiangco/RSJ, GMA News
