It's a night of farewells and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves is not passing up the chance to make her goodbye meaningful.

In an Instagram post, the beauty queen acknowledged the great luck she had during her reign and shared with her fans the positive changes that the crown brought to her life.

"I thank life for teaching me to hold my tongue, but to stand up to my convictions. To know when and how to fight battles. To fight battles with good moral reasoning, not with the intention to hurt but to make sure everyone gets to the finish line without leaving anyone behind," Cordoves wrote.

She continued, "To choose to ask the question 'what could I GIVE?' instead of 'what should I GET?' Thank you, life, for teaching me that life has more meaning the moment I put others before me."

Cordoves, known for her outspoken personality, came close to being the first Filipina beauty queen to win the Miss Grand International title.

Her time onstage took a controversial turn during the Question and Answer segment, where the candidates where asked to choose between US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton for help in stopping war and violence.

Cordoves picked Trump and defended her answer by saying, "What if we actually use his voice to do good? ... Let Donald Trump switch to our side to stop the war and violence."

The beauty queen took home a trophy as first runner-up, with the crown eventually going to Ariska Putri Pertiwi of Indonesia.

Cordoves will join fellow Binibining Pilipinas 2016 titlist at the Smart Araneta Coliseum tonight, April 30, to crown the next set of Binibining Pilipinas queens. — Aya Tantiangco/BM, GMA News
