Beauty queen and fashion model Valerie Weigmann proudly donned a white, modern Filipiniana dress at the Philippine Independence Day Parade held in New York City.

"I've always been in awe of the FIlipiniana designs that I have worn over they ears but nothing tops a white form fitted Filipiniana that represents strong, proud and empowered Filipinas," she writes on Instagram.

The dress, with dainty butterfly sleeves, is made modern with a halter-cut neckline. The dress is from Manila-based designer Rosenthal Tee's Spring/Summer 2017 collection called The Girl, Sisa, which she showed at New York Fashion Week.
