4-year-old prodigy solves Rubik's Cube, math problems blindfolded
A four-year-old wunderkind amazed netizens and students alike when he solved a Rubik's Cube and a long math problem while blindfolded, GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend" reported on Saturday.
Seemingly occupied in solving the cube puzzle, Baby Don was nevertheless able to simultaneously answer questions directed at him, whether they were about math, science or geography.
"Napapa-nganga kasi hindi nila expect na 'yung nag-ga-gatas kanina, kaya palang sumagot ng scientific name," said Louie Pinlac, Baby Don's proud father.
At one point, Pinlac asked Baby Don the scientific names of Tomato and Onion. The boy quickly answered "Solanum Lycopersicum" and "Allium Sativatum" right before he completed the Rubik's Cube, which he solved without sneaking a peek.
Baby Don solved the cube a second time, this time while naming the capitals of Russia, Mexico, Israel, and England.
"Tri-ny kong mag-turo ng (mga) capital, ang bilis niyang mag-memorize," Pinlac said.
During another occasion, several students were astounded when Pinlac gave Baby Don a long math problem using random numbers, which he solved while also completing the Rubik's Cube.
If that were not enough, the young multi-tasker was also a talented singer and dancer.
Baby Don's jaw-dropping abilities was nothing but fun and games to him.
"Parang laro din po niya 'yon. Tapos mamaya, bonding-bonding kami. So parang dinaan ko lang siya sa laro. Hindi siya 'yung parang (seryoso)," Pinlac said. — Margaret Claire Layug/DVM, GMA News
