Laura Lehmann's Miss World video is brimming with the beauty of PHL

Beauty queen Laura Lehmann celebrated the beauty of the Philippines in her introductory video for Miss World 2017 — and revealed a different side of herself as well.

Amid the rich green lands, sunny blue skies, crystal clear sea waters of the country, Laura narrated a few facts about the person beyond the crown.

"Growing up I was always one of the boys. I wanted to be outside, I loved playing sports and I played softball and rugby. Nowadays, things are very much still the same, but I'd like to think I'm a little bit more poised, a little bit more elegant...and I'm very excited to represent Philippines in Miss World 2017," Lehmann said on the video.

Laura was a courtside reporter and TV host before she won a crown to represent the country, and she shared that travelling and getting to know the Philippines and the Filipinos has made her realize that "the heart that is asked of her" is what will make her journey an incredible one.

"This is the fight I am carrying. Not with the burden of competition, but with the freedom that comes with my love for the motherland," Lehmann said.

Laura will compete on the Miss World pageant on November 18 at the Sanya City Arena in China. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas / AT, GMA News
