Winwyn Marquez on pursuing her masteral degree: 'Not now, maybe in the future matuloy na'
The newly crowned Reina Hispanoamericana Teresita Ssen "Winwyn" Marquez said that she will postpone her plans on pursuing her masters degree for now.
Before the Filipina beauty queen's victory in Bolivia, her father, actor Joey Marquez, revealed on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, that he had one condition before he allowed her daughter join beauty pageants: That she get her doctorate degree.
Wyn has achieved many of her dreams prior to taking home an international crown: she graduated Marketing Management and earned her teaching certificate. Her next goal is to pass her licensure exam as a teacher and to get a doctorate degree to fulfill her promise to her father.
"I graduated Marketing Management in San Beda, I got my teaching certificate so I'm a teacher already. Next is my licensure exam muna as a teacher," Wyn said at the her homecoming press conference at Annabel's restaurant on Monday.
The beauty queen said she will talk to her dad to work out a plan on how she will continue pursuing her masters degree.
"Pag-uusapan namin ng dad ko kung paano ko itutuloy, pero he knows very well na I'm interested ituloy yun," Wyn shared.
She said that for the time being, she will prioritize her current responsibilities as Reina, but the plan on going back to studying is not out of the picture.
In the interview with "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," Marquez said he realized that nothing can stop her daughter from reaching her goals.
“Totoo pala. If you put yourself to whatever you want to be, nothing [can stop you.] Nothing can stop Winwyn to achieve [her dreams],” Joey said.
Winwyn will have her homecoming parade in Parañaque City on November 20.
