Binibining Pilipinas 2017 queens farewell speeches

The past year's pageant season may have been a roller coaster ride for the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 queens, but it sure has been a fulfilling year for all of them — all of us, actually — with hard-won lessons and fun memories they are to bring with them for the rest of their lives as they end their BBP journey.

At the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 coronation event on Sunday, the 2017 queens had their farewell walks and speeches on stage before turned over their crowns to their successors with equally elegant farewell walks and beautiful speeches. Read them below.

Ibe turned over her crown to volleyball star Michelle Gumabao.

Winning the crown and eventually placing first runner-up in the Miss Globe pageant is a dream that turned into reality because of the people who pushed me to become who and where I am now. To the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Incorporated headed by madam Stella Marquez Araneta and the executive committee members, you have been my wings all throughout my reign. To my family, you will always be my truest source of inspiration. To my co-queens, I have found a true friend in each of you, and finally to my supporters I will forever be grateful of your love and support. You have always remembered me as your pilot beauty queen, my reign as a Binibining PIlipinas 2017 may be over but I will continue to nurture the seeds that I have planted so that I will forever remind you that once there was a queen who was never afraid to dream. I am Nelda Cunan Ibe. Your Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2017 ready for take off.

Meraki, to do all things with soul, creativity and passion, to put all of yourself into something. What a year has been reigning as a Binibing Pilipinas queen, a year where I practice the word Meraki without even knowing it. To represent Philippines for Miss Intercontinental has been an honor that I will never forget. I could have not done it without the support of each and every Filipino from all over the world. To Madam Stella Araneta, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have made dreams come true for many Filipinas. For my fellow queens, it has been such a  wonderful time reigning with you queens. To my family and friends, I cannot thank you enough for the patience you've shown me and for being the greatest support system. To my designer, Francis Libiran, thank you for giving me the wings to fly. Yo my katroopers, katwarriors my mangamoons to all my supporters  you are what makes me to become the best version of myself, thank you for giving me a crown to wear with me until forever. To my successor, remember the word Meraki and brace yourself for the adventure for a lifetime. This is for you Philippines, it has always been for you. Mahal kita."
