Mike Enriquez, Vicky Morales win big at 2018 COMGUILD Media Awards

News industry stalwart and veteran Kapuso broadcast journalist Mike Enriquez on Saturday was accorded the Best AM Radio Anchor award at the 2018 COMGUILD Media Awards for Radio and Television.

Enriquez's morning newscast partner Joel Reyes Zobel received the award on his behalf. Zobel gave uplifting news that Enriquez might be returning to their program next month.

DZBB Super Radyo's "Superbalita sa Umaga Nationwide" and "Barangay Love Stories" also received accolades, winning Best AM Radio Program and Best FM Radio Program respectively.

Melo Del Prado, who has been providing support for "Superbalita sa Umaga Nationwide", said that the program stands out from the competition because of their creative presentation. 

"Kailangan kaiba tayo para pakinggan tayo," Del Prado declared in an interview with DZBB.

GMA News pillar Vicky Morales was another big winner. Morales was recognized as the Most Outstanding Female News Presenter of the Year for her work in "24 Oras".

Fellow Kapuso journalist Marisol Abdurahman, meanwhile, went on to win Best Female Field Reporter of the Year.

"Unang Hirit" was hailed Best Morning Show, while "I-Bilib" and "Taste Buddies" were awarded Best Educational Program and Best Lifestyle Program respectively. 

"I-Bilib" host Chris Tiu was awarded Best Educational Program Host while "Taste Buddies" Solenn Heussaff and Rhian Ramos were recognized as Best Lifestyle Program Hosts. 

"Pambansang Bae" Alden Richards brought home more glory for GMA Network, winning Most Popular Television Personality of the Year.

The awardees of the 2018 COMGUILD Media Awards are selected by a 76-person jury composed of college deans, chairpersons, and other members of the academic field. — AT, GMA News
