Michele Gumabao finishes Miss Globe stint in the Top 15

Volleyball star turned beauty queen Michele Gumabao finished her stint at this year's Miss Globe 2018 in the Top 15 in Albania on Sunday, October 21.

Despite not winning the crown, Michele still made the whole country proud by winning two special awards: the Miss Dream Girl award and Miss Social Media with a total of 30.22% online votes.

China's bet Yu Yizhou took home the crown this year, with Montana Farrah of Australia as 1st runner-up, Perihan Koz of Turkey as 2nd runner-up, Rosa Fariello of Italy as 3rd runner-up and Alba Bajrami of Alabania as 4th runner-up.

Hours after the competition, Michele wrote a message of gratitude on Instagram for all the things she has learned in the past two weeks.

"Going home to my country with this huge smile on my face! I've learned a lot being here for 2 weeks! I've always known that in life there are wins and there are losses, but God knows what's best for us. I trust in Him to take me further," she wrote.

She said she knows giving her best is enough because she has the whole country supporting her.

"I gave my best and I know it was good enough because I had the whole Philippines believing in me! At the end of the day, it is what it is BLUE FOR PEACE. I'm coming home!!! Volleyball naman ang labanan." — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
