Miss World organization congratulates Catriona Gray for winning Miss Universe 2018


The Miss World organization congratulated Catriona Gray for becoming Miss Universe 2018 on Monday.

The pageant organization posted a photo of Catriona's crowning moment on their Facebook page and expressed their well wishes to the new queen.

"Well done Catriona! Congratulations from all of us at Miss World to Catriona Gray on being elected Miss Universe 2018!!"

Miss World also mentioned Catriona's achievements in her Miss World journey in 2016 where she finished as one of the Top 5.

"Catriona was a Miss World Top 5 finalist and Beauty With A Purpose Winner in Miss World 2016 and we are delighted to see her win the Miss Universe crown!"

"Catriona’s brilliant Smokey Mountain Beauty With A purpose project captured all our hearts as it revealed her dedicated vision to support the most vulnerable in our society.

Miss Universe organisation you have a great winner!" Miss World added.

On Instagram meanwhile, Miss World shared Catriona's first official photo as Miss Universe and said, "We believed in 2016. We believed in 2018. Just as we believed in Katarina, Laura and Megan! We rooted for you our dear Catriona. We knew that you have the makings of a queen. Congratulations Catriona Gray! Cheers to your victory!" 

It added, "Miss Universe, you made a great choice!"

 

 

Catriona is the fourth Filipina to be hailed as Miss Universe queen after Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Gloria Diaz (1969) and Margarita Moran (1973). 

Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters passed on the crown to Catriona, this is also the country's first time to win with the Mikimoto crown.

Miss Venezuela finished as 2nd runner-up, while Miss South Africa, 1st runner-up. — LA, GMA News
