Beauty queens slay the runway in Miss Intercontinental kickoff event

The heat is definitely on as beauty queens from across the globe vying for the Miss Intercontinental crown walked the runway on Thursday.

Over 60 candidates sashayed on the stage in couture casual for the pageant's first official event. Meet the women who embody this year's theme, "The Power of Beauty."

More queens are scheduled to arrive this week to complete the roster of 87. 

Filipino-Australian beauty queen Karen Gallman is making a bid for the Philippines’ first Miss Intercontinental crown.

She picked up two special awards during the press presentation: Standout Beauty and Media Favorite.

The 47th Miss Intercontinental coronation night will be held on January 26 at the Mall of Asia Arena. — GMA News
