Sto. Niño devotees fill up Basilica at start of festivities
Hundreds of devotees of the Santo Niño attended the religious activities held in Cebu City early Friday morning, GMA News' Nikko Sereno reported on Unang Balita.
The devotees joined the kilometer-long foot procession called "Walk with Mary" that started from Fuente Osmeña and ended at the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño.
After the procession in which devotees accompanied the images of the Santo Niño and the Lady of Guadalupe, the Misa de Traslacion was held at the basilica.
The mass was led by Fr. Manuel P. Tan, the rector of the basilica.
After the mass, a motorcade will be held to bring the Santo Niño to the Shrine of Saint Joseph in Mandaue City for the overnight vigil.
On Saturday, the Santo Niño image will be brought back to Cebu City through a fluvial procession along the Mactan Channel. The 7-kilometer foot procession will then be held in the afternoon. — BAP, GMA News
