PHL bet wins 1st runner-up in Miss Eco International 2019

Filipino-American Maureen Montagne snagged the title of first runner up in this year's Miss Eco International, almost winning a back-to-back crown for the Philippines.

Succeeding Southern Leyte's Cynthia Thomalla, Peru's Suheyn Cipriani was crowned the winner of the beauty pageant on Saturday in Egypt.

Following Montagne was Miss USA with the title of 2nd runner-up, followed by Miss Ukraine and Miss Malaysia.

Before the special night even began, Montagne left a thank-you message on Instagram for everyone who supported her.

She said, "This journey has been so incredible and I’m thankful for each and everyone of you who has supported me along the way."

"No matter what happens I will leave Egypt full of love, light, and new found purpose," she added.
