Pinay student in Alaska graduates summa cum laude despite bullying, pandemic

A Filipina student in Alaska has made her family extra-proud by finishing senior high as summa cum laude amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a report on GMA's "Saksi," Juliane Ponce, who hails from Pampanga, had to juggle work and online classes.

She also experienced her share of bullying, but she refused to let that stop her from achieving her dreams.

Juliane attended a simple recognition ceremony, which was held at her school's open field so attendees can observe physical distancing amid the pandemic.

In a video message on "Saksi," Juliane urged young people like herself to educate themselves on important issues like the COVID-19 crisis.
