Sen. Kiko Pangilinan invites public to ‘unite, speak up’ as Duterte delivers SONA

As President Rodrigo Duterte was delivering his State of the Nation Address (SONA), Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan urged the public to voice out their frustrations over what they see as the administration’s shortcomings.

During an online benefit concert being livestreamed simultaneously as the SONA, the lawmaker weighed in on the government’s “priorities” amid the rise of COVID-19 cases, such as the ABS-CBN shutdown and the signing of the Anti-Terrorism Bill.

“May paraan na tutulan ang mga nangyayari, hindi tayo dapat magwawalang kibo, hindi tayo dapat manunuod lamang,” Pangilinan said.

Pangilinan informed listeners about a “noise barrage” scheduled to take place after the President’s SONA.

He also encouraged netizens, particularly millennials, to continue “making noise” on social media.

“Makialam tayo. Kahit online. Ilabas natin ’yung ating mga kaldero. Pukpukin natin tapos i-video natin. ’Yung mga millennial, i-upload natin sa social media ’yung ating pagtutol, ang ating pagkakalampag,” Pangilinan said.
