Everything you need to know about Moovr PH, the country's first bike and e-scooter sharing app

This December, the country's first bicycle and e-scooter sharing service will go online.

Moovr PH will only be available in BGC for now, but the company has plans to expand nationally in the next few years.

Here's everything you need to know about the initiative, which is powered by the same people behind Keepr Storage PH.

How does it work?

Moovr PH will launch with 200 bicycles and 20 e-scooters, which can be found in stations or "Hubs" that are located within walking distance from any spot in the district.

It is app-powered and you can use the vehicles to go anywhere in BGC, and only in BGC. The app will direct you to the Hub closest to your destination, where you can drop it off without much fuss.

How to avail the service?

First, download the Moovr PH app on your phone and create an account through e-mail, Facebook, or Google.

Once your profile is activated, find your ride by walking to the nearest Moovr Hub. Once there, select your vehicle and unlock it by scanning the QR code to start riding.

Drop your bike or scooter off at the Hub nearest your destination and end the journey on your app.

Things to remember

Bring your own helmet! While not required, the use of helmet is highly encouraged when using Moovr.

You can use the vehicle for a maximum of 24 hours. E-scooters have to be returned if the battery is below 15 percent.

Remember to only drive on the designated lanes and obey traffic laws!

How much is it?

Rates for use of bikes start at P60 per hour with an additional charge of P15 for ever 15 minutes or a fraction thereof.

Rates for use of e-scooters will cost P150 per hour with an additional charge of P50 for every 20 minutes or a fraction thereof.

Is it safe?

The whole process of renting a vehicle will not require any human interactions so it's completely touchless — and cashless! Plus, the vehicles are regularly sanitized and disinfected.

Additionally, there are bike lanes in BGC, although there are areas where you would have to share the lane with buses. Moovr PH has set up checkpoints where you will be allowed to overtake said buses.

Founder and General Manager Anna Moncupa also said that Moovr will cover insurance up to third party liabilities in the case of accidents and other unfortunate events.
