Miss Universe Cameroon stuns crowd with majestic national costume designed by Filipino student

Miss Universe Cameroon Angele Kossinda has stunned the crowd with her majestic national costume designed by a Filipino student from Isabela, Philippines.

During the 69th Miss Universe national costume competition on Friday, Angele strutted the runway wearing a costume inspired by her country’s national animal, the lion.

Apart from her ferocious headdress, she also had two lion-inspired accessories swinging from both arms.

The costume, which symbolizes the “majestic love” for the creature, was designed by 20-year-old design student Kennedy Gasper.

On Friday, the tourism office San Mateo, Isabela, proudly shared photos of Gasper with the costume before it was worn by Angele.

“Congratulations Mr. Kennedy Jhon Gasper. Inilagay mo ang mapa ng San Mateo sa Miss Universe 2020. Proud ang buong Isabela sa iyo,” said its Facebook post.

[Congratulations Mr. Kennedy Jhon Gasper. You placed San Mateo on the map of the Miss Universe 2020. The whole Isabela is proud of you.]

Chosen to design Miss Cameroon’s costume, Kennedy is a third year student of Central Luzon State University taking up bachelor of science in fashion and textile technology, major in fashion designing.

The Philippines’ Rabiya Mateo, meanwhile, wowed the audience with a gorgeous costume inspired by the Philippine flag.

The national costume round of the 2020 Miss Universe pageant is streaming live through Lazada and the official Miss Universe YouTube channel.
