'Stop All Hate': Pinoy artists come together to call for end to anti-Asian attacks in US

Filipino artists have come together to call for an end to the anti-Asian attacks in the US by lending their voices for a music video titled #StopAllHate #ShareLove.

The star-studded cast, which includes Lea Salonga, Apl.de.Ap, Jaya, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, and Moira dela Torre, among other performers and celebrities, sang "You've Got To Be Carefully Taught" as part of Asia Society's #StopAsianHate global campaign.

The Filipino singers performed Rodgers & Hammerstein's song with slightly updated lyrics as a message to the world.

“You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught” was originally written for the 1950s Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, "South Pacific," and sang about how bigotry takes root in people and could be actively taught and rooted out.

Mon Faustino did the musical and vocal arrangement while Elmer Borlongan created the #StopAsianHate artwork presented at the start of the video.

For the campaign, Asia Society Philippines partnered with CANVAS, Art Fair Philippines 2021, Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation and Manila House. - Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
