Kris Aquino throws support behind Miss Universe Philippines candidate Corazon Abalos

Kris Aquino has announced that she will be giving her full support to Miss Universe Philippines candidate Corazon Abalos.

On Tuesday, Kris posted photos of the candidate from Mandaluyong City and said her relationship with her and her family went all the way back to the years before the EDSA revolution.

"I don’t do this for just anybody—but when her full name is Maria Corazon (exactly like my mom’s) and our relationship with her family goes all the way back pre Edsa Revolution, plus her grandparents share the same initials as my dad (BSA) and my mom (CCA), then obviously alam niyo na CORINNE ABALOS has my full support for Ms Universe Philippines," she wrote on Instagram.

Aside from sharing with her followers how they can vote for Corinne on the Miss Universe Philippines app, Kris also enumerated her credentials and why she was "a worthy candidate."

"I have never been afraid to make my choices known and since we do live in a democracy pwede kayong mag disagree with me, but Corinne is a worthy candidate, educated in Poveda and she graduated from DLSU in 2019 with a degree in AB International Studies Major in European Studies. Definitely, hindi tayo mapapahiya sa Q&A," she said.

"To all my friends & followers, I hope you give her a chance?" Kris added.

Corazon, the daughter of Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos and Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos, was among the top 15 candidates of Miss Universe Philippines Headshot and Video Introduction Challenges.
