Ganiel Krishnan resigns as Miss World Philippines 2021 2nd Princess; Janelle Lewis to take over


Ganiel Krishnan has resigned as Miss World Philippines 2021 2nd Princess.

A statement sent to GMA News Online by MWP national director Arnold Vegafria said Ganiel had decided to focus on her profession as a media personnel.

“The Miss World Philippines Organization respects Ganiel Krishnan’s decision to relinquish her title as MWP 2021 2nd Princess to resume and prioritize her career as a journalist,” it read.

To take over her title is Janelle Lewis of Angeles City, Pampanga.

“Taking her place is Janelle Lewis who gladly accepted the duties and responsibilities that come with her crown.”

In a Facebook post, Ganiel said she had decided to “pursue the dream which will have the greater impact to actually serving my fellow Filipinos and that is through broadcasting.”

Before ending her post, she thanked the MWP Organization and sent her fellow beauty queens good luck for their upcoming competitions.

“I truly am grateful to have joined Miss World Philippines 2021, which also marks my last foray into the world of pageantry,” said Ganiel.

“It was one big learning experience for me which, I know, will help me score even greater triumphs in the future.”

The Miss World Philippines 2021 coronation took place Oct. 3 in Subic Bay, where Cebu City’s Tracy Maureen Perez took home the title. – RC, GMA News
