Glamping sites near Metro Manila reopen


As alert level eases allowing for more outdoor activities, several glamping sites near Metro Manila are opening their doors to visitors anew for a modern twist on camping experience.

Glamping, short of glamorous camping, offer an experience off the beaten path where one can connect with nature without sacrificing the touches of comfort of city life, according to a "24 Oras" report by Chino Gaston.

Camp Sandugo at Sitio Aries in San Mateo, Rizal offers glamping tents where one can enjoy the cool air of Mt. Maarat while overviewing Manila.

Camp Sandugo’s biggest tent, fully equipped with a stove, a portalet, a porch, beds, a mini-fridge, a mini air conditioner, breakfast for four and snacks is priced at P6, 000.

Budget glamping tents for two with free bonfires priced at P1,900 and day tours for mountain bikers and trail runners are also available.

Located an hour away from Metro Manila, Windfarm Nature Escape also offers glamping tents and rustic-themed houses for people interested in watching the afternoon sunsets or climbing hiking trails leading to mountain waterfalls.

“This is a family camping site, especially for children,” owner Jade Acidre said.

At P1, 000, glamping tents towering Laguna Lake and the Wind Turbine of Pililia in Rizal can be rented overnight.

A-frame houses at P4,000 and a private house with a bonfire, porch, and a play area at P10, 000 can also be availed.—Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA News
