Philippines’ Miriam Damoah becomes Miss Interglobal 2021 after winner resigns

The Philippines' Miriam Refuerzo Damoah is the new Miss Interglobal 2021 after the winner resigned and relinquished her title.

In a statement posted on its social media pages on Friday, the Miss Interglobal organization announced that Thailand's Nachita Jantana had relinquished her title due to personal reasons.

"Nachita had recently informed us, the Miss Interglobal organisation, that due to personal reasons beyond her explanation, she will not be able to carry out her duties as the Miss Interglobal 2021. Therefore, she is relinquishing her position," it said.

"For this reason, after discussion, we as an organisation have respected her decisions and the title of Miss Interglobal 2021 will be transferred to the 1st runner-up, Miriam Refuerzo Damoah of the Philippines," it added.

"We wish Nachita the best on her life journey, and also to Miriam, as she takes up the role of Miss Interglobal 2021."

The Miss Interglobal 2021 pageant was held Dec. 5. Thailand's Nachita won the title, while Miriam was named first runner-up and Chile's Ivonne "Bony" Sagredo was second runner-up. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
