Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo took to Instagram to spread awareness on Siargao’s situation amid the ongoing threat of Typhoon Odette and ask for prayers.

On their Instagram stories Thursday, the couple shared some photos and videos of strong winds and waters starting to damage the island. Philmar also warned residents of the high tide coming in at 4pm.

“Water is already this high while it’s still low tide. High tide is at 4pm. Please evacuate na those people who live near the ocean,” he wrote. “Please, please, please.”

According to Andi and Philmar, there is also no signal on the island anymore as Odette approaches.

“No more signal sa isla,” Philmar added in another slide. “Please pray for my island home, Siargao.”

“Typhoon Odette coming in a couple hours yet trees are already falling, and no electricity. Hope those living near the ocean have evacuated,” Andi wrote. “Keep safe, Siargao.”

Based on their Instagram posts, Andi and Philmar are in Manila with their children: Ellie, Lilo, and Koa.

According to Andi, their flight back to the island has been cancelled.

“Cancelled flight going home due to Super Typhoon Odette. Receiving updates about current damages happening in our home but also just very worried about our loved ones on the island,” she said.

On Thursday afternoon, Surigao del Norte, which covers Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands, is among those placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4.

As of 2pm, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration's (PAGASA) said Typhoon Odette has already made its landfall over the island. — LA, GMA News
