3 public hospitals receive protective supplies vs COVID-19 from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Three public hospitals have received protective supplies against COVID-19 from GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a “24 Oras” report, Wednesday, among the beneficiaries was East Avenue Medical Center, where nurse Ricardo Escorpiso worked. His five-year-old son Prince had contracted the disease.

Because hospitals were fully occupied when he got sick, Prince received treatment at home. Although he has now recovered, Ricardo still can’t help but worry.

“Natatakot ako na baka maulit tapos baka biglang ’yung susunod na tumama sa kanya is malala na,” he said.

[I’m scared of it happening again because the next time he gets it it might be worse.]

Another nurse at the hospital, Lleana Zoe Belles, was first assigned in a COVID-19 ward.

Even though she thought of giving up at one point, Lleana chose to continue with her chosen profession.

“Talagang kailangan mo talaga ipakita ’yung resiliency mo. Kailangan kami ng patients,” she said.

[We really need to show our resiliency. The patients need us.]

Together with Pasig City Children’s Hospital and Rizal Medical Center, East Avenue Medical Center received diapers, N95 masks, face shields, vitamins, and baby wipes.

GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, Shopee, GCash, PayMaya, Zalora, Mega Mart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
