Unang Hirit treats drivers to full tanks of gas amid rising fuel prices

Unang Hirit gave some lucky drivers a chance to win a full tank worth of gas on Friday morning.

Host Patricia Tumulak visited the Montalban-Commonwealth Transport Service Cooperative and played a quiz with the public utility vehicles (PUV) drivers there.

Those who answered right got free gas, while those who didn't got a consolation  prize in the form of P1,000 cash prize.

The treat was given to the drivers amidst the continuous increase in oil prices as the Ukraine-Russia crisis rages on.

The Department of Energy (DOE) earlier said there is no problem with the supply of fuel products coming into the country, adding that the problem lies in its prices.

Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has said that it will begin the distribution of fuel subsidies to PUV drivers and operators next week after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released the funds for the program. —JCB, GMA News
