Vanessa Bryant just attended the opening of the court built in honor of her late husband Kobe Bryant and their daughter Gianna.

Wearing Kobe's Lower Merion Aces high school varsity jacket, she posed in front of the mural. The court located in Philadelphia.

She said that Kobe's love for basketball began in the city, which was why she chose the Tustin playground to build the court.

"I chose this location so that young people in this community may have a safe space to play with equal opportunity, which was important to Kobe and Gianna," she wrote in her Instagram post.

"We are grateful to the City of Philadelphia, @muralarts, for welcoming this project and helping to make it a reality," she added.

In a separate video, Vanessa shared the official opening of the court.

"Kobe's uncle Chubb lived across the street and Kobe used to play here when he was a kid," Vanessa said.

The court, in collaboration with Nancy Lieberman's Dream Courts charity organization, features a half-court circle depicting Kobe and Gianna's names, with colors purple and yellow surrounding the court, representing Los Angeles Lakers' iconic color scheme.

In January 2020, Kobe, along with her daughter Gianna and seven others onboard, died in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles. —JCB, GMA News
