Are children born with natal teeth lucky? Kuya Kim answers
Is it true that children are lucky when they have teeth right from the moment they are born?
According to Kuya Kim on “24 Oras” Tuesday, those in Europe believe that children with natal teeth will be brave warriors and leaders. Meanwhile, it’s a bad vision in China.
These, however, do not have any scientific proof - they are merely superstitions.
A baby’s teeth usually appear between their fourth to seventh months. As such, dentist Dr. Maureen Ines-Manzano said it is rare and suggests that natal teeth should be removed.
“According to studies, ito ay hereditary or genetic. Usually, ito ay associated sa mga growth syndrome conditions. Kailangan mapatanggal agad kasi mahihirapan siyang mag-breastfeed,” she said.
“Ang natal teeth ay matulis, maaaring magkaroon ng tongue injury or worse, dahil mobile ito at loose, maaari itong malunok, pumasok sa airways and then ‘di na siya makahinga,” she added.—Franchesca Viernes/LDF, GMA News
