Beatrice Luigi Gomez looks back on Miss Universe Philippines

It's been a year since Beatrice Luigi Gomez was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021.

On Friday, the beauty queen took to Instagram to reflect on that fateful day that changed her life.

"In my head around this same time last year was Murphy's Law which states that if anything could go wrong, it will," Beatrice said.

"I can never mess up anything that's meant for me and that's when I finally freed myself from worries and just enjoyed the whole experience," she continued.

Beatrice shared the photo of her and her fellow Top 5 wearing their crowns and sashes on stage.

"What was supposed to be just a thing off my [bucket list] became the biggest plot twist of my life and I would do it all over again with my sisters and friends at @themissuniverseph 2021 if I could," she said.

She also said that other than the international Miss Universe pageant in Israel, winning the local pageant was the "biggest highlight" of her year.

"I will forever cherish this memory and the people who were a part of this chapter in my life," Beatrice said.

Beatrice made history as the first openly gay Miss Universe Philippines.

She brought the Philippines back in the Miss Universe Top 5, the country's first since the pageant's 2018 edition.
