Reina Hispanoamericana postpones pageant to 2023 due to unrest in Bolivia
Reina Hispanoamericana is postponing this year's pageant to 2023 due to the political and civil unrest in host country Bolivia.
The pageant announced the development in a statement on Instagram posted on Friday.
According to the organizers, the new pageant date is on February 4.
"Our organization wishes above all to protect the safety of the candidates and that they fully enjoy their stay in our wonderful city," the statement read, as translated from Spanish.
"This is a situation that is out of our hands. We appreciate your understanding."
Philippine bet Ingrid Santamaria also shared the update on her Instagram Stories and thanked everyone for their continued support to her journey.
"Please keep the love coming as we prepare to bring the second crown home on February 4, 2023," she said.
Winwyn Marquez won the first Reina Hispanoamericana crown for the Philippines in 2017.
