This student from Bulacan creates portraits with smoke from fire

A student from Pulinan, Bulacan does not use pens or paint for his art, instead, he utilizes smoke from fire.

As seen on Kuya Kim’s “24 Oras” report Tuesday, Mejeyd Tribo uses real flame to create his pieces and dedicates a lot of time and patience for it.

“Kapag nagkamali ka, hindi mo na pwedeng tapalan,” he said. “Sa mga gusto po mag-try ng ganung art style, ang kailangan niyo po (ay) pasensya.”

Mejeyd used to create with charcoal until he was inspired to make fumage art by a foreign artist.

Among the personalities that the architecture student has done portraits of include Bella Poarch, Yeji of ITZY, Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams, and of course, Kuya Kim.—Franchesca Viernes/LDF, GMA Integrated News
