Celeste Cortesi bows out of the Miss Universe 2022 pageant

Celeste Cortesi has exited the Miss Universe 2022 pageant.

During the finals being held at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana Sunday, Celeste failed to be among those vying for the crown.

This is the first time that the Philippines did not make it to the Miss Universe pageant's semifinals since 2009, when Bianca Manalo represented the country.

Manalo was followed by Venus Raj, who was named 4th runner up in the Miss Universe 2010.

Despite not winning the country's fifth crown, Celeste proved to be a strong candidate in the pageant. During the preliminaries, she exuded elegance in her shimmering baby blue evening gown with a thigh-high slit.

She also showed her amazing figure in a pink bikini featuring an inspiring cape.

Celeste also stood confident in her national costume inspired by Darna, the country's fictional hero from Mars Ravelo's comic series.

The 71st Miss Universe pageant is being held at the Morial Convention Center. The winner will be crowned with Mouawad's "Force for Good" crown by reigning queen Harnaaz Sandhu.
