Bulacan artist creates art from scrap slippers
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
This is what an artist in Bulacan held true, as he used discarded slippers to create colorful artworks.
Artist Mar Perez diligently pick up slippers trashed in waterways in Barangay San Pascual in Hagonoy for his mosaics, Joseph Morong reported on "24 Oras" on Friday.
He then cleans the scrap items, air dries and cuts them to small pieces.
Dun po nagstart," Perez said.
Perez said art became his source of livelihood after losing his job during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic.
He uses it to fund their daily needs as well as to sustain his mother's medication.
However, some buyers tend to haggle.
Still, Perez said he would not give up until he reaches his dream of making his art popular.—Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA Integrated News
