Google Doodle features Filipina writer, educator

Google joins the celebration of the 129th birthday of Filipina writer and educator, Paz Marquez-Benitez through a "doodle".

Marquez-Benitez, who hails from Tayabas in Quezon, was known as an educator and for her contributions as a short-story writer and editor.

She was also crowned Manila Carnival Queen in 1912.

She was among the first students to attend classes at the newly established University of the Philippines and finished with a degree in Liberal Arts. -- BAP, GMA Integrated News
