Taylor Swift's album 'The Tortured Poets Department' debuts at no. 1 on Billboard 200

Taylor Swift's newest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," just achieved a milestone after ranking number one on Billboard 200.

According to Billboard, Swift's latest album sold more than 2.6 million units in its first week, when calculating equivalent units through streaming.

Traditional album sales accounted for more than 1.9 million records across digital downloads and physical units.

"She is the only act with seven different albums to each sell at least 1 million copies in a single week in the modern era," Billboard said.

"The Tortured Poets Department" is Swift's 14th album to rank number one on Billboard.

Meanwhile, on social media, the American popstar can't help but be surprised with the reception of her newest album.

"What do you mean," Swift wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

She also thanked her beloved Swifties and took the opportunity to share some behind-the-scenes photos from the making of the album, including snaps with Post Malone and Florence Welch whom she worked with in "Fortnight," and "Florida!!!" respectively.

"My mind is blown. I'm completely floored by the love you've shown this album. 2.6 million are you actually serious? Thank you for listening, streaming, and welcoming Tortured Poets into your life. Feeling completely overwhelmed. I was already so fired up to get back to the tour but you doing this? May 9th can't come soon enough," Swift wrote on Instagram.

Swift released "The Tortured Poets Department" on April 19. She also released a surprise second part of the album called "The Anthology" with 15 additional tracks.

She also released the music video for her collab song "Fortnight" with Post Malone where the "Dead Poets Society" stars Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles made cameos as scientists.
