Labor Day 2024: Workers receive groceries, more gifts from GMA Kapuso Foundation

GMA Kapuso Foundation surprised workers with gifts as a way to thank them for their perseverance and hard work in celebration of Labor Day this year.

According to a "24 Oras" report, Wednesday, among those who received help was furniture peddler Eduardo Cudanez.

Eduardo only makes P300 for every piece of furniture sold.

"Kung minsan itong braso ko namamanhid. Araw-araw tuloy-tuloy po ang trabaho namin," he said.

Fish vendor Rotchel Ocenar from Bulacan was also among those who received gifts. He travels to Quezon City every day and sells her fish there.

"Umaalis po kami alas dose ng hatinggabi. Minsan po 'pag hindi nauubos, inuuwi na lang namin sa Bulacan," she said.

Meanwhile, in the streets of Barangka, Marikina, Estong Chavez sells bottled water from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

"Minsan matumal, minsan malakas ang paninda," Estong said.

To honor their dedication and sacrifices, GMA Kapuso Foundation delivered grocery packs and hygiene kits to street vendors, drivers, security guards, construction workers, and dock workers.

They were also given summer survival kits, which contained a hat, towel, shirt, biscuit, and water.

"Sa mga kababayan natin, kailangan mag-ingat kayo. For example, ikaw ay vendor, or traffic enforcer, or rider ka. Dapat may survival kit kayo. Meron doong water, payong, o sombrero," Dr. Tony Leachon said.

For those who want to take part in GMA Kapuso Foundation's initiatives, you may send your donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
