Chelsea Manalo cries in her parents' arms after winning Miss Universe Philippines 2024

Chelsea Manalo and her parents shared a moving moment following her crowning as Miss Universe Philippines 2024.

In an Instagram Reel posted by Miss Universe Philippines, Chelsea and her parents could be seen bursting into happy tears on stage after the pageant. Chelsea shared a long hug with her mother, Contessa Manalo,while her stepfather comforted them both.

According to Miss Universe Philippines, “Chelsea’s mom and dad played the roles of personal assistant, stylist, and even makeup artist for her, throwing their full love and support for Chelsea.”

The beauty queen said in an "Unang Balita" report that she "instantly thought" of her parents when she was announced the winner.

"I know that this was not just my dream but also their dream," she told the press. "I always have this dream of actually looking at myself in the mirror, wearing that sash and that crown. So when they announced my province, I couldn't feel anything, like literally."

"I'm really happy to be here," she added.

Contessa also said, “Naiiyak ako sa sobrang saya." She added, "Nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoon, natupad 'yung pangarap ng anak ko."

Chelsea is half-American and was raised by her mother and stepfather after her father passed away.

Chelsea represented Bulacan in Miss Universe Philippines 2024. She will compete at the upcoming international pageant in Mexico.

Aside from Chelsea, the new queens are: Alexie Brooks of Iloilo is Miss Eco International Philippines 2025, Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province is Miss Cosmo Philippines 2024, Tarah Valencia of Baguio is Miss Supranational Philippines 2025, and Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga is Miss Charm Philippines 2025.
