Persian cat from Pangasinan goes viral for saying 'hi' instead of 'meow'

Pipoy, a Persian cat from Alaminos, Pangasinan, recently caught netizens' attention for his unusual "speaking" capabilities.

In Thursday's episode of "Balitanghali," Ladeen Lacambra, the cat owner who uploaded the viral TikTok video, said they noticed the unusual sound from Pipoy when another cat visited their home. Instead of a "meow," Pipoy greeted his fellow with a "hi."

Pipoy didn't seem to have learned how to "meow" like a typical cat because he doesn't socialize with other cats outside their home. According to Ladeen's video, Pipoy grew up around two dogs.

As of writing, Ladeen's TikTok video has amassed over 8.7 million views and more than 1.6 million reactions.

Meanwhile, another TikTok viral cat, Cala, known for her adorable “I Go Meow” video, passed away last month due to old age.
