On Independence Day, Linya-Linya honors Francis M. with new commemorative shirt

Retail brand Linya-Linya paid homage to Filipino rap legend Francis Magalona with its newest commemorative shirt to mark the 126th Philippine Independence Day.

The shirt features Magalona's iconic lyric "Bilib Ako Sa Kulay Ko, Ako Ay Pilipino" from one of the Master Rapper's greatest hits "Mga Kababayan."

The limited-edition shirt is available for pre-order on their website for P799. First 100 pre-orders will get one random exclusive Linya-Linya x Francis M. sticker.

This newest shirt is the third commemorative shirt for Magalona. In 2019, Linya-Linya launched shirts featuring Kiko's greatest hits to mark his 10th death anniversary. For his 13th death anniversary in 2022, they released pink shirts quoting lyrics from "Ito Ang Gusto Ko."

Dubbed as the "Filipino King of Rap," Magalona became an influential figure in Pinoy hiphop. He is known for his hit songs "Mga Kababayan," "3 Stars and a Sun," and "Ito ang Gusto Ko."

Francis died of leukemia in 2009. He is survived by his wife Pia and their six children: Maxene, Saab, Frank, Elmo, Clara, and Arkin.
