Gil Cuerva defended Yasmien Kurdi on her meeting with Department of Education chief Sonny Angara.

The Kapuso actor clapped back at a netizen on X who posted an article about the said meeting. The user also wrote “Sana lahat may access sa DepEd secretary" in the caption.

Gil reposted the netizen's take on his X account and wrote, “Sana lahat may access sa DepEd Secretary? More like sana lahat brave enough to fight bullying!”

According to him, he was also a victim of bullying, and he looks forward to the meeting making positive changes.

“As someone who was bullied his entire elementary school life (formative years for a child), I hope something great comes out of this!” Gil said.

"Until now I’m still pissed sa mga bullies ko," he added.

Gil and Yasmien previously worked together in the GMA action-drama "Beautiful Justice."

Recently, Yasmien claimed that Ayesha was getting bullied in school.

Per the Kapuso actress, her daughter “was ganged up on” and “targeted” by students for not replying to messages while their family was on vacation. She also alleged that Ayesha was blocked by students from their classroom and denied food during their breaks.

She claimed that another student allegedly took a video of Ayesha without her consent, causing her "paranoia and anxiety."

"She has been enduring this type of bullying since Grade 2, alarmingly this has led to the creation of an online 'Ayesha Hate Club' targeting her," the actress wrote.

Yasmien also previously shared her heartbreak upon finding a photo of Ayesha that's been cut up into pieces.

The actress has posted encouraging words for Ayesha since the issue became viral and dedicated her latest award to her kids.

Meanwhile, Colegio San Agustin has issued a statement, saying, “At the outset, there appears to be no bullying that happened on December 10, 2024.”

The school also said that it is handling the incident "with caution circumspect and confidentially," and encouraged Yasmien and other parents to cooperate with them.
