Manila Luzon, Bianca Del Rio, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ alums pay tribute to Jiggly Caliente

Drag artists and fans worldwide are mourning the passing of Jiggly Caliente, a "RuPaul's Drag Race" alum turned "Drag Race Philippines" resident judge.

On the day of her death, April 27, Filipino drag artists, including Marina Summers and Eva Le Queen, immediately took to social media to express their sorrow.

Soon after, Jiggly's co-alums in "RuPaul's Drag Race" paid tribute to her legacy, honoring her charisma, wit, and talent.

Michelle Visage, a resident judge of "RuPaul's Drag Race," described Jiggly as someone with a contagious energy.

"My jiggles… The laughter was endless, our talks were special, your energy was contagious," she wrote.

"This world has lost an angel, and we want you to soar high. I love you so much, honey," she added.

Manila Luzon expressed her heartbreak over the death of Jiggly, her best friend for 25 years.

"I'm really [going to] miss all our long phone calls, your endless barrage of hilarious Reels in my DMs, your cooking, and especially ALL YOUR SHADE!" she said.

"Rest in Peace, little sis! Your mug is still flawless!" she added.

KaladKaren, Jiggly's co-judge at "Drag Race Philippines," said the show will never be the same without her.

"I just lost my favorite seatmate," she wrote. "I love you, my sister Jiggly."

Bianca Del Rio left a short but sweet message for her "good time gal," Jiggly.

"Thank you for 20 years of laughter and friendship," Bianca said.

Jinkx Monsoon

 

For Jinkx Monsoon, she described Jiggly as someone who "lived her life exactly how she wanted to."

"She always reminded me to be grateful for every little gift our blessed lives give us," she said.

"She accomplished so much in a relatively short time, and we are all so proud of her," she added.

Ginger Minj

 

In over 11 years of friendship, Ginger Minj said Jiggly taught her how to stand up for herself, "held me accountable when necessary, and never failed to make me laugh [until] I cried."

"Grateful I got to say goodbye, heartbroken I had to. Shattered," she said.

Jiggly's death was announced by her family on Sunday through an Instagram post.

Previously, Jiggly's family announced that she would not appear in the show's upcoming season nor participate in any public engagements indefinitely due to a "serious health setback."

According to her family, she was hospitalized and has lost "most of her right leg" due to a severe infection.

Jiggly, whose real name is Bianca Castro, was among the judges of all three seasons of "Drag Race Philippines." She competed in Season 4 of "RuPaul's Drag Race" and Season 6 of "RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars."—AOL, GMA Integrated News
