Mika Salamanca says Brent Manalo is among the first to read her children's book 'Lipad'

Now that Mika Salamanca has published her first children's book, "Lipad," who among her fellow "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab" housemates will be the first to receive a copy?

During her book launch on Monday, the Sparkle star said it's none other than her duo, Brent Manalo.

"Siyempre si Brent po ang una kong bibigyan talaga. Bukod sa siya 'yung duo ko, isa din siya sa mga unang nakabasa ng librong 'to," Mika said.

According to her, Brent had already read the book even before it was released.

"Pinapakita ko din sa kaniya 'yung illustration. Lagi kong sinasabi 'tignan mo, cute ba? Aesthetic ba? Ganyan-ganyan. So siya siguro 'yung una kong pagbibigyan," Mika said. 

"Sobrang supportive niya po sa libro na ito," she added. 

Mika's first book, "Lipad," tells the story of a young fairy named Mahika, who feels she is not good enough because her wings are small and different from the rest.

Mika said Mahika's character is inspired by her.

"Lipad" will make its official debut at the Manila International Book Fair 2025, which will be held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay from September 10 to 14.

She will also have a reading session and a book signing at the event.

Mika was among the 20 housemates of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." She and Brent were the season's Big Winners.

She currently appears as Anaca in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre," which airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." —MGP, GMA Integrated News
