75 residents affected by Emong receive free roofing materials from GMA Kapuso Foundation

A total of 75 residents of Bani, Pangasinan whose homes were affected by Typhoon Emong in July received free roofing materials from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to "24 Oras" Tuesday, the foundation returned to Bani after holding its Operation Bayanihan project in the area, this time to conduct its Silong Kapuso project for the residents.

Among the beneficiaries of the project was Estrilita Ordoñez, whose home was ravaged by Emong. For temporary shelter, she had to make do with old galvanized steel sheets.

Estrilita's neighbor, Jerome Soriano, was also able to repair his home thanks to the Silong Kapuso project.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation, along with the Philippine Army's 51st Engineer Brigade and 71st Infantry Battalion, had returned to Bani after five weeks to distribute galvanized steel sheets, wood, and other roofing materials to the 75 residents.

Aside from roofing materials, the beneficiaries also received food packs and hygiene kits.

"Masayang-masaya, talagang abot sa langit ang saya ko. Hindi lang po ako ang natulungan niyo, marami po kami," said Estrilita.

For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information.
