Over 100 residents in Pangasinan hit by Emong receive free roofing materials from GMA Kapuso Foundation
Over 100 residents in Agno, Anda, and Bani, Pangasinan, whose homes were ravaged by Typhoon Emong in July received free roofing materials from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to "24 Oras" Wednesday, among the beneficiaries of the foundation was Noemi Esberto, a single mother from Agno, whose roof collapsed due to the heavy rains brought by Emong.
Mercy Cacho of Anda, whose kitchen roofing caved in due to Emong's strong winds, also benefited from the project.
Aside from galvanized steel sheets, wood, and other roofing materials, the GMA Kapuso Foundation, with the support of OK Cares Foundation, distributed food packs, hygiene kits, and porridge to the residents.
The Engineer Support Company of the Philippine Army's 51st Engineering Brigade also helped in the rebuilding of the beneficiaries' homes.
"Ang pinili ho nating mga materyales, dekalidad. Makapal ho na yero at tsaka good lumber para talagang matibay ang mga bubong," said GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP & COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog.
"Masaya po kami kasi nakikita nga namin kung saan po napunta ang fund na nadonate po namin sa Kapuso Foundation at nakikita rin po namin ang mga families that were actually affected," said OK Cares Foundation program director Maina Tutt.
For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information.
