8,000 Benguet residents affected by Nando receive help from GMA Kapuso Foundation
Eight thousand residents affected by Super Typhoon Nando from Mankayan and Buguias in Benguet received help from GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to “24 Oras,” Friday, Buguias had already been experiencing rainfall since July, which proved detrimental to vegetable crops. Nando brought further destruction, as it caused a river to overflow in Barangay Buyacaoan.
In Mankayan, the extreme weather caused a wall to collapse.
Residents also expressed deep concern that the collapsed wall, situated behind their home, might lead to the collapse of their house.
Hindi talaga ako makatulog,” Jane Vergara said.
Halos dito kami natutulog.
GMA Kapuso Foundation traveled to the two towns and distributed food packs to the residents, including farmers.
