Annabelle McDonnell honors Maranao heritage with Singkil-inspired national costume at Miss Globe 2025
Annabelle McDonnell’s Miss Globe 2025 national costume is a dazzling tribute to the Tri-People of Mindanao and her roots in Iligan City.
The Filipina beauty queen’s Singkil-inspired attire designed by Chino Christopherson is an elaborate golden ensemble with intricate details reminiscent of the iconic dance.
Her look is completed with ornate fans and a regal headpiece.
“My great great grandmother was a proud Maranao woman, and I wanted to honor my heritage through this costume,” Annabelle was quoted as saying in an Instagram post by Aces and Queens.
She showcased the creation during the preliminary competition as well as her red evening gown by Val Taguba, which she also wore for her official glam shot.
Annabelle won the Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2025 crown in June, representing Iligan City.
In 2023, she also represented the Philippines for Miss Charm, where she finished as the first runner-up.
The Miss Globe 2025 finals is happening on October 15 in Albania. Among the hosts is Filipina queen Maureen Montagne, who won the title in 2021.
